L&D Specialist - Residential Aged Care

About the Position

Anglicare offers both independent living retirement villages and fully-accredited residential aged care, providing a range of accommodation and care services throughout Brisbane and southern Queensland. Due to the recent expansion of our Organisational Development team, we are looking for a Learning & Development Specialist - Residential Aged Care to provide frontline training and end-to-end learning and development activities for an assigned client group. This newly established, full time role will be based in our Cathedral Precinct in Ann St, with full autonomy to travel throughout the region, offering support to facilities on-site. The position would suit someone who is eager to be an ambassador for the aged care sector, can facilitate positive change and is committed to join a dedicated and passionate organisation that promotes a positive culture and environment within the sector.

 

About You

With a significant background in clinical education, you will be passionate about supporting Anglicare to provide quality care for aged clients within our residential facilities. Skills and experience will include:

  • Clinical nursing specialisation suitable to the aged care sector such as dementia, palliative care or rehabilitation
  • Development and delivery of successful training programs and plans; group facilitation, individual mentoring and development
  • Planning, designing and evaluating programs and resources to ensure contemporary best practice learning
  • Robust knowledge of care within aged residential or community services and understanding of relevant legislative requirements
  • Significant knowledge of blended, digital and micro-learning L&D delivery methodologies and an ability to develop training to suit a range of learning styles
  • An understanding of multi-stream services and working within a multidisciplinary organisation
  • Experienced in the implementation of capability and practice frameworks through L&D activities

To be successful in this role, you will bring a collaborative, team-focused approach and the following capabilities:

  • Communication, presentation and facilitation skills, with the confidence to present information in a manner well suited to your audience
  • Problem solving skills, an innovative approach and ability to think outside the box
  • A consultative attitude and dedication to working with a knowledge-sharing focus
  • Comfortable working in an open-plan office and remotely as required - the role will also require significant travel to facilities within the region several times a week

You will be required to hold the following:

  • Degree in Nursing, with current AHPRA registration
  • Post graduate qualifications in Dementia or Palliative Care or similar field
  • Post-graduate qualifications in Adult Education or similar field (desired)
  • A Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (desired)
  • Blue Card (Working with Children) with Yellow Card exemption
  • National Police Certificate
  • A Queensland Driver Licence and a willingness to travel throughout the service region
